Petr Markovich is a Polish born artist, who moved to Lviv and studied at Lviv State Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts and Ceramics. Markovich studied under the great Soviet artists Roman Selsky.
Until 1991, a member of the Soviet Union of Artists, markovich participated in regional, national and international exhibitions. He chaired monumental paintings at the Lviv State Institute of Applied and Decorative Art. For twenty years he taught composition and painting. Markovich became an acclaimed artist over his thirty years tenure in creating art in ceramics, metal, murals and oil on canvas.
Markovich paintings, ceramics, graphics and metal works decorate modern art museums in Lviv, Kiev and Moscow. Sammlung Ludwig’s 1989 Von Der revolution Zur Perestroika, features Henrie Matisse, Marc Chagal, Kasimir Malevich, Grisha Bruskin, Natalia Goncharova and Peter Markovich.
Markovich’s works were acquired by private and public collections in Norway, Israel, Germany, USA, Poland, Canada, Ukraine and Russia.
